Malaga Airport (IATA: AGP, ICAO: LEMG), officially Malaga–Costa del Sol Airport since June 6th 2011 is a spanish airport situated in Churriana at eight Km of Malaga center. Of the three which participated in the first air route (Toulouse-Barcelona-Alicante-Málaga-Casablanca), established in Spain in 1919 by the French company founded by Pierre Latécoère, Lignes Aeriennes Latécoère, it is the only running permanently being then the dean of the Spanish airports.

Currently he ranked fourth in terms of volume of traffic amongst all the airports of Spain, third in the Iberian Peninsula, and twentieth in the European Union. Over 13.749.134 passengers passed through it in 2014 (11.729.047 international flights) and 108 263 takeoff and landing operations. It is the great tourism gateway not only to the Costa del Sol but to Andalusia as it represents on around 85 % of all international traffic of the whole community and it is the only one who can offer a wide range of destinations. Due to the increase of the air traffic, a new terminal and a new runway (12/30) have been built. Malaga airport has two runway takeoff and landing. Each one can have one function (one only for takeoff and one only for landing) helping the traffic speed.

The airport deals with more than 60 airlines with a daily link with twenty cities in Spain and over one hundred cities in Europe, mainly with United Kingdom, , Central Europe and North countries but also with the main cities of East Europe: Moscú, San Petersburgo, Budapest, Sofía, Varsovia, Riga or Bucarest; with North Africa, Middle East: Riad, Yida y Kuwait; and North America: Nueva York,Toronto and Montreal.
